Privacy policy
Last updated 5 August 2026. Written from an audit of what the application actually sends and stores, not from a template.
- There is no analytics or telemetry of any kind. Podlaps contains no tracking, no usage reporting, no crash upload and no advertising identifier. We do not know that you installed it, and we cannot tell how you use it.
- Your library never leaves your computer. What is on your headphones, what you subscribe to and what you download are not sent anywhere by us.
What is stored on your computer
All of it in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OpenShokz. Delete that
folder and nothing of Podlaps's remains.

Who your computer talks to, and why
Podlaps makes these requests directly from your machine. We do not proxy them, so we never see them — but the operators of these services will see your IP address and what you asked for, under their own privacy policies.

| Spotify | open.spotify.com/oembed, only to read an episode title from a pasted Spotify link. No Spotify audio is downloaded. |
| YouTube | youtube.com and i.ytimg.com, via the bundled yt-dlp, when you search or download. Requests go to YouTube directly and are subject to Google's privacy policy. |
| Licence server | Only if you activate a paid plan. Your email address or licence key is sent to check the plan is active. Nothing else is transmitted. |
| Update check | Only if enabled in the build: a request for a small signed file describing the newest version. It carries no identifier. |
If you buy a plan
- Payment details
- Handled entirely by our payment provider. Card numbers never reach this site, this application, or us.
- Your email address
- Kept so we can identify your plan, issue your licence and contact you about it. It is not sold, rented, or used for marketing you did not ask for.
- How long we keep it
- For as long as you have a plan, and afterwards only as long as tax and accounting law requires us to retain the transaction record.
- Your rights
- Ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by writing to support@podlaps.com. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
